Kivu’s Parma Holds Lazio to a Draw, Costing Marušić’s Team Valuable Points

Lazio dropped crucial points in their quest for the Champions League, ending the match in a 2:2 draw against Parma at the Olimpico.

It could have been more disappointing for Adam Marušić’s team (who played the full match), as the “milkmen” initially led 2:0. Fortunately for Lazio, they salvaged a point in the dying moments thanks to a goal from substitute Pedro.

Parma has been performing admirably under Cristian Chivo, recently earning a draw with Inter (from 0:2 to 2:2 at home) and defeating Juventus in the last round (1:0). They have demonstrated their ability to contend with favorites, even away from home.

However, two goals from Swede Jakob Ondrejka, scored in the 3rd and 46th minutes, were only sufficient to secure a shared point.

Nonetheless, Parma is seven points clear of Venice, the team closest to the relegation zone.

Lazio missed the opportunity to equal Juventus in 4th place on points. Bologna, along with Roma, now sits ahead due to a superior goal difference.

Earlier this evening, Bologna also squandered a promising opportunity, settling for a 0:0 draw at Udinese. Meanwhile, in a matchup between lower-half teams, Cagliari achieved a 2:0 victory away against Verona.
