A tender for constructing a bridge over the Tara River along the Foča-Šćepan Polje road is expected to be announced within 15 days.
This information was shared by the Roads of the Republic of Srpska during a regional civil engineering and traffic meeting held in Belgrade, according to a report by Radio Television of the Republic of Srpska (RTRS).
The media notes that progress is being made toward addressing the construction of the Foča-Šćepan Polje road, which has been termed by drivers as “the road from hell”.
The 12-kilometer section will be funded through an international loan. Talks with the World Bank were finalized in January, while discussions with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are still underway.
“To expedite the process, we expect to have both a tender and a chosen contractor within approximately fifteen days,” mentioned Miroslav Janković, acting director of the Public Enterprise (PE) Roads of the Republic of Srpska.
Attendees at the regional conference in Belgrade examined new technologies and materials in civil engineering, providing a platform for potential business collaborations.
Innovative traffic solutions were also on the agenda, alongside the discussion of whether to renovate or completely rebuild the railway station in Novi Sad.
