Total revenue from games of chance and prize games in the first five months reached 14.93 million euros, marking a 28.42 percent increase compared to the same timeframe last year, according to the Gaming Authority.

“In this period, revenue from online and telecommunications-based games of chance saw a growth of 45.89 percent, totaling 6.14 million euros,” the statement indicated.

Revenue from casino games hit 1.78 million euros, reflecting a 45.7 percent rise. Furthermore, 2.92 million euros were generated from games of chance in slot machine clubs, showing a 26.8 percent growth in that sector.

“Additionally, total revenue from betting games amounted to 4.05 million euros, which is a 4.96 percent increase,” the statement elaborated.

The reported growth reaffirms the necessity of a new information system for oversight, which has significantly enhanced transparency and control over those organizing games, contributing greatly to the results achieved.

“This upward trend is indicative of the ongoing successful collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and the Gaming Authority, with joint efforts leading to the fulfillment of the Government’s goals in enhancing fiscal stability and the responsible management of public revenues,” the statement concluded.
