The Special State Prosecutor’s Office has brought charges against Dušan Stefanović, a police officer from Berane, for accepting bribes and abusing his official position.
Boban Milić is facing bribery charges, along with the leader of the criminal group, Faris Ćorović.
This was announced by the prosecutor’s office led by Vladimir Novović.
“The Special State Prosecutor’s Office, after completing its investigation, has submitted an indictment to the Special Department of the High Court in Podgorica against three defendants: F.Ć. for the offenses of creating a criminal organization, money laundering, and bribery; against DS, a police officer from the Berane Security Department, for the offenses of creating a criminal organization, the extended offense of abuse of official position, and accepting a bribe; and against BM for the offense of bribery,” explained the SDT.
They further stated that the indictment includes a proposal to extend the detention for defendants Stefanović and Milić.
Stefanović, Milić, and Ćorović were arrested on February 4th.
On the orders of the SDT, officers from the Special Police Department apprehended them that same day.
Milić, who was detained that day, had previously been arrested in early June 2022 in Belgrade, on suspicion of being involved in a criminal organization that plotted the murder of the late Milić Minja Šaković during 2020 and early 2021.
Milić was extradited to Montenegro on August 18, 2022, and spent some time in Supka Remand Prison.
He is suspected of joining a six-member criminal organization at the end of 2020, involved in various serious crimes and allegedly planning to murder Milić Minja Šaković in Podgorica.
This plan was thwarted by the police. Milić Šaković was ultimately killed on June 17, 2022, in Budva.
