Methodius was appointed as the Metropolitan of Budimlje-Nikšić

Bishop Methodius of Budimlje-Niksic was awarded the title of Metropolitan of Budimlje-Niksic by the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church (SPC), which is currently holding its session in Belgrade, according to unofficial sources from the Patriarchate.
Furthermore, it was reported that the eparchy itself did not gain the status of a Metropolis, instead, the bishop of the Eparchy of Budimlje-Niksic received the metropolitan title.
The Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church elected Metodije as the Bishop of Budimlje-Niksic in May 2021, and he was officially enthroned in September of the same year.
