EHF Denies Swedish Appeal
No updates have occurred; France and Denmark are set to compete in the final of the European Championship.
The EHF’s Disciplinary Committee deemed the Swedish Handball Association’s appeal inadmissible, as they questioned why the referees failed to utilize the VR system to assess the legality of Elohim Prandi’s goal during extra time.
The French defender initially shifted his right leg during the free throw, and subsequently lifted his left leg before taking the shot.
This action is not in accordance with the official rules. However, the appeal was dismissed because the decision to employ the VR system rests solely with the officials.
As a result, the Swedish team will face Germany in the fight for third place at the EHF Euro, which also serves as a pathway for direct qualification to the Olympic Games.
This match is set to take place tomorrow at 15:00, officiated by the top Montenegrin referees, Ivan Pavićević and Miloš Ražnatović.
