Denver Defeats Houston Without Jokić; Oklahoma Triumphs Over Clippers

Last night, Denver’s basketball team triumphed over Houston with a score of 116:111 on the road, breaking Houston’s nine-game winning streak in the NBA.

Jamal Murray was the standout performer for Denver, scoring 39 points and contributing seven assists. Michael Porter Jr. added 17 points along with nine rebounds, Russell Westbrook logged 14 points, and Aaron Gordon finished with 13 points and eight assists.

Deandre Jordan marked his return after a 15-game absence with his first double-double of the season, contributing 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Serbian star Nikola Jokić missed his fourth consecutive game due to an ankle injury.

For Houston, Jaylen Green led the way with 30 points, while Dillon Brooks added 21 points. Alperen Sengun achieved a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists, and Steven Adams recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

With this victory, Denver sits third in the Western Conference with a record of 45 wins and 27 losses, while Houston holds the second spot with 46 wins and 26 losses.

Oklahoma also found success on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers, winning 103:101 for their sixth straight victory.

Shay Gilges-Alexander was Oklahoma City’s top performer, scoring 26 points and dishing out eight assists. Aaron Wiggins added 19 points, while both Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds each.

Oklahoma was without two regular starters, Jaylen Williams and Chet Holmgren, who were sidelined due to injuries.

Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 25 points and 10 rebounds, while James Harden added 17 points and eight assists. Croatian center Ivica Zubac recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds, with Serbian national team captain Bogdan Bogdanović contributing two points (1-for-21 shooter) alongside three rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in just six minutes.

Currently, Oklahoma resides at the top of the Western Conference with 59 wins and 12 losses. The Clippers, who had a five-game win streak snapped with this loss, now sit in eighth with a record of 40 wins and 31 losses.

In another matchup, Miami defeated Charlotte 122:105 at home, effectively eliminating Charlotte from playoff contention.

Andrew Wiggins was the leading scorer for Miami, racking up 42 points, while Tyler Herro added 29 points. Devin Mitchell and Kelel Ware each notched 12 points. Serbian player Nikola Jović remains out due to a fractured right hand.

Nick Smith Jr. led Charlotte with 19 points, while LaMelo Ball recorded 18 points and 11 assists. Miles Bridges had a double-double, contributing 17 points and 13 rebounds.

This win marks the end of Miami’s 10-game losing streak, placing them 10th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 30 wins and 41 losses, while Charlotte now sits in 14th place with only 18 wins against 53 losses.

In addition, Toronto, coached by Serbian Darko Rajaković, lost to San Antonio with a score of 89:123, marking their fourth consecutive defeat. Meanwhile, Atlanta triumphed over Philadelphia, led by Trae Young with 132 points and 119 assists.

Lastly, Boston outperformed Portland 129:116, highlighted by Jayson Tatum’s impressive stat line of 30 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists, earning their fifth straight victory.
