I wholeheartedly support the Defence and Security Council’s decision.
I fully support the cohesive and responsible choice made by the Defence and Security Council regarding the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro. This decision reflects a mature approach to governance and an unwavering commitment to stability and reform in the defence sector.
I expect Minister Krapović and the newly appointed Chief of the General Staff to actively and decisively carry out the long-needed vetting process within the Armed Forces of Montenegro. As we have already shown in other security sectors, these services must maintain integrity. The Armed Forces of Montenegro should consist of honorable individuals, not those with dubious connections. State institutions must serve as a fortress against any form of undue influence rather than a sanctuary.
We need to retain our experienced professionals, inspire the younger generation to step into the ranks, and purge the system of all compromised individuals and unauthorized influences. This is the blueprint for reform that strengthens institutions—only robust institutions can protect the state and its future.
