Interpol Seizes High-Value Vehicle in Podgorica

Officers from the Border Police Sector have confiscated a luxury vehicle with German license plates in Podgorica, which is listed as wanted by Interpol Wiesbaden, according to a statement from the Police Directorate.
The seized automobile, a BMW 850i series, was taken from a 30-year-old resident of Podgorica, identified as EK, and has been transferred to local police for additional investigation, in conjunction with the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office.
The Police Directorate also reported that border police have pressed charges against five individuals for illegal trafficking.
The statement details that officers stopped a Citroen C4 on the Zeta – Podgorica road; the vehicle was operated by a 60-year-old named LP, with passengers DP (60) and GP (67), who are Albanian citizens residing in Montenegro.
“Inside the vehicle, 52 packs of cut tobacco, 66 packs of various brands of cigarettes lacking excise stamps but featuring Kosovo excise stamps, along with five packs of handmade cigarettes were discovered and seized,” the police announcement stated.
According to the report, LP, DP, and GP were interrogated under the direction of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, with criminal charges filed against them on suspicion of involvement in illicit trafficking.
Furthermore, Nikšić police have lodged criminal charges against VT (60) and VD (55) for the same offense.
The police revealed that their personnel searched the stalls, apartments, and other locations associated with VT, resulting in the confiscation of five kilograms of cut tobacco.
A check on VD’s counter revealed an additional seven kilograms of cut tobacco, which has been temporarily seized.
