The Serbian Parliament is set to approve the resignation of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević on Tuesday or Wednesday, initiating a 30-day period for the formation of a new government. Should the new government fail to materialize, new elections are likely to be scheduled for June 8, as stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić during a government meeting.

During a discussion with the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabić, Vučić indicated that Vučević’s resignation will be officially announced on Tuesday or Wednesday, marking the commencement of the 30-day timeline for establishing a new executive branch.

“This implies that April 18th is the cut-off date for forming the Serbian Government. If you wish for it, then that’s the goal; otherwise, we will proceed to elections as the timeframe is between 45 to 60 days. This means if the government is not formed, elections could occur in early June, on either June 1st or June 8th. June 8th is more plausible, as suggesting June 1st feels rushed,” Vučić remarked, as reported by RTS.

Regarding the protests that took place yesterday, he remarked that it was “significant and positive” that no serious disturbances occurred.
