We Must Strive to Improve with Every Game
Last night in Podgorica, the Montenegrin women’s volleyball team faced a tough defeat against Spain, losing 3:0 in the opening match of the Golden League.
Our national team was unable to create an upset, as Spain showcased their superiority and secured a convincing win.
“Kudos to Spain for their well-earned victory; they are currently a stronger team than we are. We need to center our efforts on improving as a team. Consistent hard work is essential to progress match by match. This is the reality we face now. I aimed for us to display better resilience, increased competitiveness, and perhaps even clinch a set. Every point is significant for us. I was particularly disappointed with the easy points and initial plays, which are crucial in volleyball, especially in serve reception. It’s not shameful to lose to a stronger opponent at this moment; rather, I see it as a learning experience for us. We will analyze the game, and I hope we can perform better in various phases when we face Ukraine next,” stated coach Jovo Caković.
Montenegro is scheduled to compete against Ukraine tomorrow (18) as the tournament continues.
