One of the standout players this season will soon be hanging up her blue jersey…
French handball star and Olympic gold medalist Kalidijata Nijakate will part ways with Budućnost Bemax at the conclusion of the season, as confirmed by the club based in Podgorica.
“Following discussions between the club’s management and the Olympic champion from Tokyo, it has been decided that the partnership will not continue into the next season. ŽRK Budućnost Bemax wishes her the best in her future endeavors,” announced Budućnost.
Nijakate joined the two-time European champions in February of last year and is departing after a season in which she scored 10 goals across 32 Champions League matches.
The club has already secured the return of Jelena Despotović, Đurđina Jauković, and Nina Bulatović for the upcoming season, along with the arrival of Russian player Valerija Kirdyasheva from Rostov Don.
