Government Prepares to Invite FBI and FSB for Investigation into Sonic Cannon

Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević announced today that the government is prepared to extend an official invitation to both the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) to investigate the reported use of a sound cannon during the protest in Serbia on Saturday.

“We are ready to officially extend this invitation; we have nothing to conceal,” Vučević told reporters at the government office.

He reiterated that no Serbian state entity employed a sound cannon during the protest.

Vučević dismissed claims about the sound cannon as fabricated, asserting that there was no such equipment in Belgrade’s streets. He emphasized that he was with police officers throughout Saturday and no orders were given to use batons.

“There was no order from police leadership, nor from superior command or field units, to take any action against anyone,” the Prime Minister stated, expressing his gratitude towards the police for their “commendable work.”

He assessed that the situation indicates “the continuation of the color revolution in Serbia.”

“Despite the large turnout, the meeting lacked any political significance. To compensate for this and, as they say, to create a new narrative, one must resort to even bigger lies,” he noted.

Vučević asserted that the Serbian police have nothing to hide and anticipates a thorough investigation by the prosecution.

“When it is proven that they fabricated the truth, and you will see that they did, those who disseminate false information will have to face consequences. There is no room for negotiation on this matter,” he stated.

He also accused some doctors who “attended the protests” of advising citizens on what ailments to report afterwards.

“Everything was orchestrated and entirely false. The Serbian police did not use batons. I stand firmly behind those words, as does the entire country,” he asserted.

He noted that a significant number of individuals were present at the rally on Saturday, adding that the most crucial aspect was that “nothing that was foretold occurred, and there were no assaults on institutions,” leading to a peaceful gathering.

“It is evident that state authorities acted effectively in a preventive manner. Firstly, the Novi Sad separatist group preparing for violent actions was uncovered,” Vučević said.

He pointed out that most of the violence occurred on the night of Friday into Saturday, particularly towards the camp in Pionirski Park, as well as against tractors serving as a protective measure, where 186 tractors were utterly destroyed.

“As a political party (SNS), we will support these individuals and compensate for their losses. This needs to be addressed swiftly, given that the sowing season is approaching,” Vučević remarked.

He further noted that some individuals have already been detained in connection with these events, and he expects police to identify anyone responsible for the destruction of property and violent acts.

According to him, there were minor sporadic confrontations with the police during Saturday’s protest.
