United in Duty and Honor: Embracing Our Role as Ambassadors of Our Nations
“We share a common duty and honor, as we represent our nations,” stated Judy Reising Reinke, the Ambassador of the United States to Montenegro.
This remark was directed towards the Montenegrin handball players, who, along with head coach Bojana Popović, her assistant Maja Savić, and RSCG president and director Petar Kapisoda and Emir Bešlija, were present at the reception held at her residence.
The RSCG highlighted in a press release that Reising Rajnke paid a significant tribute to the national team following their impressive performance, which secured them seventh place at the World Championship in December.
During that championship, she also conveyed a message of encouragement, which has become the most viewed video on the Embassy’s official platforms since she assumed her role in the country.
“You have demonstrated that teamwork and women’s sports lead to remarkable achievements at the highest level. This is the kind of collaboration our country needs as well. You serve as an inspiration to us all. You have elevated Montenegro on the global stage, showing that even a small nation can achieve significant results. You are role models for young girls pursuing similar paths, and your passion is truly inspiring. I wish you continued success in the future,” Reising Rajnke proclaimed.
According to RSCG, Rajnke also expressed her admiration for the performances of the men’s national team at the recently concluded European Championship, where captain Mirko Radović represented the “lions” at the reception.
On behalf of the Handball Association of Montenegro and the Kapisoda national team, Bojana Popović conveyed their gratitude to Reising Rajnke for the support extended to the national team during the World Championship.
Kapisoda presented the ambassador with a jersey featuring her name, hoping it would be something she uses when cheering for the “lions” and “lionesses” in future matches.
“The recent achievements of our national teams, which you also acknowledged, affirm that this is our country’s finest representation on the international stage. Thus, we can confidently say that handball players are our best ambassadors, proudly showcasing a small country with athletes who possess great heart. We have succeeded over the past 18 years since regaining independence, driven by both talent and the character and pride we embody,” said Kapisoda.
