The Government has approved the international agreement with the European Union (EU) regarding Montenegro’s participation in the EU LIFE program. This program is designed to fund projects that focus on environmental protection and climate action.

According to the Government, joining this program offers vital support for innovative initiatives, helping the country meet its sustainable development and climate targets.

“This program presents an opportunity for deeper integration into European and international environmental protection trends,” the statement indicated.

The Draft Agreement specifies that implementation will commence on January 1 of this year.

The Government further clarified that the agreement will remain active until all projects and activities, or relevant portions funded by the LIFE program, are completed, along with any necessary actions to protect the EU’s financial interests and all financial obligations linked to the agreement’s execution.
