“Equality Before the Law Reigns in Montenegro”
Today’s meticulously organized and seamlessly executed operation by the Police Directorate, resulting in the deportation and apprehension of two individuals sought by Montenegrin authorities for various serious criminal activities, reinforces—yet again—our unwavering position: in Montenegro, there are no longer protected or untouchable individuals, and evading justice is not an option.
As the Coordinator of the Bureau for Operational Coordination, I want to extend heartfelt appreciation to the relevant authorities in the United Arab Emirates for their remarkable efficiency during the deportation process. I also wish to acknowledge our international partners from EUROPOL, the FBI, DEA, and AFP, whose invaluable support played a crucial role in the successful execution of the groundbreaking “General” operation, which led to the prosecution of 19 individuals involved in cocaine trafficking.
This operation delivers a clear and resolute message: no one is above the state.
Today’s actions further enhance Montenegro’s emerging international reputation, the strength of inter-agency collaboration, and the essential support from the Ministry of Interior and the Police Directorate. It also highlights the significance of robust partnerships with the Special State Prosecutor’s Office.
Effective cooperation among law enforcement agencies, mutual trust, and the evident international respect and confidence of our partners are the bedrock of Montenegro’s significant and ongoing successes in combating organized crime.
