The trial of Vehbo Čoković for selling “Xalol” to the now-deceased minor AV from Cetinje was postponed today at the Higher Court in Bijelo Polje.
In this retrial, Čoković faces charges for the unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotic drugs.
The owner of the “Herz” discotheque is accused of selling “xalol” to minors without authorization between June 20 and 24, 2021.
According to the indictment, he sold three tablets of “xalol” to minors, with each tablet containing 15mg, charging eight euros for one and an unspecified amount for the other two.
The drug was discovered by Bijelo Polje police officers on April 24, 2021, during an investigation at the home of Ramiz Čoković, the defendant’s brother, where AV was residing. They found remnants of two boards from the sold “xalol” tablets.
Vehbo Čoković was arrested in May 2022 after the Bijelo Polje Higher Prosecutor’s Office ordered the exhumation of a woman from Cetinje who died in the hospital following eight months of treatment for a suspected drug overdose.
According to her friend Anđela Vesković, Čoković allegedly provided the pills in his discotheque “Herc” apartment, with the woman from Cetinje paying him eight euros for them.
Before her passing, Vesković and the late AV both worked at the same restaurant.
The hearing was delayed due to the absence of the judge.
Previously, Čoković was sentenced to four years in prison; however, this verdict was later overturned by the Court of Appeal.
