Though they haven’t left their mark on the Premier League yet, Leeds and Burnley have made significant waves in the Championship, with their managers, Daniel Farke and Scott Parker, leading one of the teams to the top tier for the third time.
Leeds United achieved promotion in style, clinching a 6:0 victory over Stoke, highlighted by Dutch player Joel Pirro, who netted four goals—all within the first half.
In contrast, Burnley secured a 2:1 win against Sheffield United, paving their path to direct promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds is making a return to the Premier League after two seasons, now as a more formidable team with Red Bull as part of their ownership group, while Burnley aims to prove they are not just a “yo-yo” team struggling with relegation upon promotion.
With two rounds remaining in the Championship season, Sheffield United and Sunderland are confirmed for the playoffs, while Bristol and Coventry are in contention, not to mention Middlesbrough, Millwall, and Blackburn who are still fighting.
Southampton and Leicester have already faced relegation from the Premier League, and the official confirmation of Ipswich’s return to the Championship is still pending.
