The Montenegrin water polo team secured a decisive victory over Romania, winning 18:11, and will compete for fifth place in the European Championship.
They will face Greece next (Tuesday at 18:30), which presents an opportunity to improve the impression left after their quarter-final defeat to Italy (8:14).
“We responded well following the loss to Italy. Our approach was right from the start, even when we were down 3:0 due to minor errors and some excellent shots from the Romanians. After that, we took control and deservedly won,” remarked Draško Brguljan.
The veteran player also shared his thoughts on the match against Italy.
“Everyone is disappointed that we didn’t make it to the semi-finals. I understand the fans’ frustration, but no one feels it more than we do. We believed we could reach the semi-finals, and soon we will have another chance at the World Cup,” Brguljan stated.
