Volleyball Team Heads to Austria for Pre-Golden League Doubleheader
The men’s volleyball team is set to travel to Austria this Thursday for two test matches against the Austrian squad in Vienna, serving as a crucial preparation ahead of their debut in the CEV Gold League.
Head coach Ivica Jevtić will have 16 players at his disposal for these initial matches, following an injury to Milutin Pavicevic, who twisted his ankle during a training session in Podgorica.
The coach noted that all players will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in the upcoming matches against Austria, and Đorđe Jovović mentioned that this experience will be invaluable for the young team.
Montenegro will face Romania and Latvia in the opening tournament in Mioveni, Romania, on June 6th and 7th. The subsequent tournament in Podgorica is scheduled for June 13th to 15th, where Montenegro will compete against the Czech Republic on June 13th and Finland on June 15th.
The Montenegrin volleyball team will wrap up their league stage at the CEV Golden League in Strumica, with matches against Israel on June 21 and North Macedonia on June 22. The three top teams from the combined standings, alongside the host Czech Republic, will then advance to the final tournament in Brno, set for July 4 to 6.
