Dragan Kustudić: A Pioneer of Futsal in Montenegro
Dragan Kustudić passed away in Podgorica on Sunday at the age of 83.
He will be remembered as a key figure in the inception of futsal, which saw significant growth and popularity in Montenegro during the early 90s.
Kustudić holds the distinction of being the longest-serving president in futsal history (until 2022).
He served on the board of KMF Student Dormitory for 24 years, from 1994 to 2018, and was the president of the FSCG Futsal Committee during the vital expansion phase of futsal from October 1995 to October 1997.
With KMF Studentski dom, he achieved the vice-championship title in the First Futsal League of Montenegro twice (in the 2010/11 and 2012/13 seasons) and clinched first place at the University Championship of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in Futsal in Niš (1997). His efforts contributed to the club’s reputation as one of the most notable futsal teams in the last decade of its participation in the First Futsal League of Montenegro, producing numerous talented players who have represented Montenegro’s senior futsal national team.
Dragan Kustudić was laid to rest yesterday in Podgorica.
