Professor Dražen Drašković from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (ETF) in Belgrade reported that during the “15 for 15” protest in Belgrade on Saturday, at exactly 19:12, a coordinated attack on students occurred. Part of this attack was executed by individuals in Pionirski Park, while another was carried out using an unidentified sound device in a central street of Belgrade.
“It is a sorrowful tragedy for Serbian society that such an event took place at that moment. At 19:12, there was a synchronized action where hooligans threw stones from Pionirski Park at our students who were acting as security guards, while the Gendarmerie responded with tear gas across the street. An action by unknown individuals with sound weapons will certainly be analyzed by both local and international experts,” he stated in an interview on TV.
Drašković emphasized that something significant occurred during the moment of silence at the protest, considering it an assault on young individuals who were protesting peacefully. “This was an attack on our own citizens, which is disheartening in a European country,” he expressed.
Regarding the disruption during the 15-minute silence, he stated he believes some sort of device was used, based on the recordings.
“We have sound experts at the faculty, and we are in contact with specialists from other institutions. Our aim is to gather and thoroughly analyze all materials to uncover what transpired. There are various kinds of weapons, such as sonic cannons, microwaves, and air cannons. We can ascertain aspects of what occurred through the sound and the waveform observed. At one point, the waveform ceased, indicating it wasn’t a typical stampede; otherwise, it would have expanded to Slavija,” the Professor explained.
“All of this suggests it was not a covert operation but a directed action that took place precisely during the fifteen minutes of silence,” Drašković added, reporting that numerous students suffered injuries, with some sustaining fractures, sprains, and several experiencing hearing issues. Additionally, some were left in shock, and others encountered complications with their pacemakers.
