A collective of teachers and students from the “Mihajlo Pupin” Electrical Engineering School in Novi Sad honors those who perished in the train station accident every day by blocking the road in front of the school. Today, however, they were struck by a driver of a black BMW who drove through their blockade.

The students held a moment of silence for 16 minutes today, dedicating an additional minute to the victims of the tragedy in Macedonia. Footage shared on social media shows the driver of the BMW initially inquiring about the duration of the blockade before proceeding to drive through it.

“When a colleague shouted for us to step aside, some individuals did move out of the way. The vehicle crossed the pedestrian island, narrowly missing some people, before returning to its lane,” reported the school’s faculty to the 021 portal.

They noted that several staff members were able to capture photos of the vehicle.

“Fortunately, since we report the daily blockade to the police, there is typically an officer nearby,” the teachers and students emphasized.

The teachers are hopeful that the offending driver will be identified and held accountable promptly.
