Red Star Belgrade fell to Spartak Subotica at home tonight, losing 77:78 (22:14, 19:20, 21:30, 15:14) in the 25th round of the Admiralbet ABA League.
This marks Red Star’s sixth defeat in the regional league this season, placing them fourth in the standings—one win behind third-placed Dubai and three behind the leaders, Budućnost Voli and Partizan.
If the standings remain as they are, with Buducnost in first and Red Star in fourth, that would set up a potential semi-final matchup in the playoffs, but there are still five rounds left to play…
Spartak clinched victory with a basket from Rasir Bolton just two seconds before the final whistle. Red Star attempted to respond after a timeout, with Kalinic taking the shot, but he missed the game-winning attempt.
For Red Star, Filip Petrushev was the standout player, scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Nemanja Nedović contributed 13 points, while both Jago dos Santos and Cody Miller-McIntyre added 10 points each.
Umodža Gibson led Spartak with 21 points, including a perfect 5/5 from three-point range. Stefan Momirov followed with 16 points (4/6 three-point shooting), and Danilo Nikolić also had a strong performance with 15 points and eight rebounds.
