CIRT’s Participation in the Global Cyber Exercise
Representatives from CIRT took part in the first edition of Cyber Games 2025, an international event dedicated to cybercrime and digital forensics. This competition was held from May 20 to 23, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur. It was part of the CyberSEE initiative and collaborated with the CyberEast+, CyberSouth+, GLACY-e, and Octopus projects, receiving robust backing from INTERPOL and Malaysia’s National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA).
The event brought together around 140 experts from 50 nations, providing a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and experiences through competitions and simulations of cyber incident scenarios. Participants tackled complex problems related to ransomware investigations, emphasizing areas such as open-source intelligence (OSINT), incident response, digital forensics, and cryptocurrency tracking.
CIRT’s engagement in this event highlights a significant contribution to bolstering national capabilities in combating cybercrime and represents an essential step forward in enhancing international collaboration in this domain. Such initiatives allow participants to improve their technical skills while promoting the adoption of the measures specified in the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention).
Building on the achievements of the inaugural edition, the Council of Europe, through C-PROC, will continue to assist countries globally in strengthening their justice system capabilities concerning cybercrime and electronic evidence. New editions of the Cyber Games are already planned for 2026 and 2027.
