Podgorica – Interpol, in collaboration with the Bijelo Polje police, apprehended a Serbian national, SS (37), who is subject to an international warrant issued by Interpol Belgrade, according to the Police Directorate (UP).
An international red notice has been issued for SS, who is wanted in connection with multiple criminal offenses.
As reported, a warrant was issued for SS to ensure his availability for legal proceedings, based on credible suspicion of involvement in conspiracy to commit criminal activities and aggravated murder as an accessory.
“The individual SS is thought to be affiliated with an organized criminal group in the region. On April 25, 2021, SS was released from Bijelo Polje Prison after serving a four-year sentence for establishing a criminal organization. Timely coordination between police officers from Interpol NCB Podgorica and the Bijelo Polje Security Department led to his arrest in light of an international warrant. It’s important to note that SS was previously detained in Budva earlier this year due to reasonable suspicion of his involvement in a criminal group planning the murder of Lj. M. from Budva,” the statement indicates.
“The individual has been placed in extradition custody by the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Bijelo Polje. Further discussions between NCB Interpol Podgorica and NCB Interpol Belgrade will continue,” stated the UP.
