Futsal Team Triumphs Over Norway in Final Qualifier Match

The Montenegrin futsal team concluded its main round performance in the EURO 2026 qualifiers with a victory against Norway.

Though facing an early setback in Oslo, Sveta Ljesara’s squad emerged victorious last night with a score of 6:5, marking their first win in Group 4.

The home side swiftly took a 2:0 lead in the second minute, courtesy of Zindeu Vel and Eirik Denem. However, Montenegro quickly found its form, with Goran Delić, double scorer Janko Bulatović, Luka Vuletić, and Pavle Vukčević reversing the game for a significant advantage. The Norwegians made a late push, but it was not enough to threaten Montenegro’s success.

“It was a challenging match, during which we endured a lot in both the opening and closing minutes. Nonetheless, for the rest of the game, we had control. I commend the boys for securing this crucial victory, as these three points will likely help us maintain our ranking position, allowing us to avoid the preliminary round in the next cycle and possibly be placed in the third pot for the upcoming draw,” stated coach Sveto Ljesar on the Association’s website following the match.
