The Assembly is set to resume the Third Session of the First Regular Session today.

Members of Parliament will deliberate on two proposed laws: one regarding the ratification of the economic cooperation Agreement between Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates, and another concerning the ratification of the Agreement for collaboration in tourism and real estate development with the UAE.

According to the announcement on the parliament’s website, the session will commence at noon.

A coalition of non-governmental organizations has declared their intention to stage a demonstration outside the Parliament building today at 11 am.

The NGO sector emphasizes that their aim is to raise awareness about the “serious risk” they associate with the Agreement on Cooperation in Tourism and Real Estate Development with the UAE. They believe it poses threats to the public interest, constitutional order, and Montenegro’s European trajectory.

Yesterday, the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, urged all MPs to consider the arguments presented by representatives of the non-governmental sector, heads of pertinent state agencies, and local government representatives before voting on the Agreement regarding Tourism and Real Estate Development with the UAE.

Last night, Genci Nimanbegu, the President of the Municipality of Ulcinj, urged deputies to refrain from voting on the ratification of the agreement at today’s session.

Boris Mugoša, the leader of the Social Democrats parliamentary group and EU representative, also called on the majority MPs to oppose the ratification of the agreement today and suggested opening a public debate to seek consensus on amending the agreement’s texts.
