The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hailed the Declaration on a Military Alliance among Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia, signed today in Tirana, as a significant advancement for regional security. He extended his congratulations to all the signatories.

The memorandum aims to enhance collaboration in developing defense capabilities and the defense sector, improve interoperability via education, training, and exercises, counter hybrid threats, and bolster strategic resilience, accompanying full support for Euro-Atlantic and regional defense integration.

In a Facebook post, Kurti stated: “Congratulations to everyone! This is an extremely important milestone for security and peace in our region, achieved through the defense, cooperation, and coordination of our peace-loving nations, with the trilateral military alliance declaration signed today in Tirana by our Minister of Defense (Kosovo) Ejup Macedonci, Albania’s Minister of Defense Piro Vengu, and Croatia’s Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić.”

The agreement outlines the framework for defense collaboration, joint military operations, and collective training efforts.

Minister Macedonci noted that “the goal of this partnership is not to pose a threat to anyone; it serves as a message to those wishing to jeopardize the region, demonstrating our unity and our commitment to prevent any destabilization.”

“I thank the Ministers of Albania and Croatia for this initiative, and I consider this agreement to be the first trilateral effort in the region,” added Macedonci.
