Manchester City is prepared to offer 150 million euros for Florian Wirz.
According to “Get German Football News”, Bayer Leverkusen is optimistic that the midfielder will remain at the club for an additional season and hopes to extend his contract until 2028. This extension would include a release clause of 125 million euros that would activate next summer.
However, if Wirz opts not to renew his contract, he is likely to depart the club this summer, with Bayer demanding a minimum of 150 million euros.
Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich have all expressed interest in the 21-year-old player. Wirz’s decision regarding his future will heavily depend on his ambitions — he aspires to win the Champions League and the Ballon d’Or.
In this context, he views a transfer to Real Madrid as the most appealing option, while the prospect of joining Bayern is the least attractive to him. Nonetheless, Real Madrid will only decide in May whether to pursue the midfielder.
City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has reportedly met with the player to discuss how he would integrate into the squad and potentially replace Kevin de Bruyne. The Citizens are willing to pay Bayer Leverkusen €150m while offering Florian a salary of €25m per year.
However, Florian’s father prefers that his son join Bayern and has met with Uli Hoeness, the honorary president of the Munich club, multiple times.
This season, Wirz has played 26 matches in the Bundesliga, scoring nine goals and providing ten assists.
