Two coaches from Podgorica, Dejan Radonjić and Zvezdan Mitrović, ranked second and third in the recent Eurocup Coach of the Season voting for the continent’s second-tier basketball competition.
The top honor went to Pedro Martinez of Valencia, whose team, like Radonjić’s Bahçeşehir, was eliminated in the semifinals.
Bahçeşehir topped the league stage, defeating Cedevita Olimpija and Mitrović in the “Montenegrin” quarterfinals, but fell short of the final against Gran Canaria.
In contrast, Mitrović excelled with a team that had struggled in previous EuroCup seasons.
The EuroCup final will showcase Gran Canaria, under Jaka Lakovic, against Hapoel Tel Aviv, coached by Dimitris Itoudis.
