Montenegrin Boxers Capture Gold and Bronze Medals in Pristina
Vuk Dabović clinched the gold medal, while Danilo Marković earned a bronze medal at the “Ljah Nimani” international youth boxing tournament held in Pristina.
In the final bout of the 70 kg category, Dabović triumphed over North Macedonia’s Rion Bajrami, winning by stoppage in the first round.
His teammate from the Podgorica Power boxing club, Danilo Marković, faced a setback in the semifinals of the 65 kg category, losing to Croatian boxer Matej Morton.
In addition to the gold medal, Dabović was awarded the trophy for the most competitive pair of the tournament in Kosovo’s capital.
Coach Milorad Purić from BK Power Boxing accompanied Dabović and Marković to Pristina.
“The tournament in Pristina was incredibly significant, particularly for the growth of our young athletes. It provided an excellent opportunity for them to experience the atmosphere of high-level international matches, apply what we’ve practiced, and learn to handle pressure. I am proud of their performance and how they showcased their skills to the boxing community both regionally and beyond,” expressed Coach Purić.
This memorial tournament, held in honor of the legendary coach of the Yugoslav national team, gathered participants from Albania, Bulgaria, Poland, North Macedonia, Croatia, Ukraine, host Kosovo, and Montenegro at the Palace of Youth and Sports.
