Buducnost maintained its streak of positive outcomes against its main competitor, Sutjeska. Last night in Niksic, during the 29th round of the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League, the Podgorica team triumphed with a score of 3:1.
This victory extended Buducnost’s unbeaten run against Sutjeska to 17 matches, with their last defeat to Sutjeska dating back to September 2021.
Goals for Buducnost were scored by Gašević, Bulatović, and Bojović, while Sutjeska managed a consolation goal from Miranović.
“It was a solid match, a true derby. We maintained control from start to finish. In the first half, we held possession well, executed excellent transitions, and controlled the game—except for a moment when Sutjeska nearly scored but we were fortunate. Then Gašević netted a fantastic goal. In the second half, we played strategically and disciplined, scoring two goals from counterattacks. We could have added at least two more. Congratulations to Sutjeska on their strong performance, and kudos to our players,” commented Buducnost coach Ivan Brnović on the club’s website.
Currently, Buducnost holds a 17-point lead over Petrovac, who will be playing away against Otranto-Olimpik today (18).
“I believe we present ourselves as quite serious, beyond the Montenegrin context, and I hope this team will demonstrate that during the summer in the European matches, which are our ultimate goal,” Brnović concluded.
