I’m amazed to see Budućnost striving for the top, with players ready to support the national team!

The derby match in Podgorica between SC Derbi and Budućnost Voli attracted an audience of 550 at the “M:tel Morača Hall”.
This information is reported on the official AdmiralBet ABA League website, though it’s debatable if that number of fans actually attended. The game featured 28 three-pointers, with Budućnost ultimately winning 105:99.
Coach Petar Mijović of SC Derbi expressed his astonishment at the low turnout:
“I can understand that sometimes Budućnost, being at the forefront of basketball in Montenegro, may not fill the stands, but it’s surprising,” Mijović said. He added:
“Fans have grown used to the top-tier results over the last 10-12 years, and when there’s a dip, attendance drops as well. It’s surprising that Budućnost is in a tight race for playoff positions along with two Euroleague teams, especially this season, and our games too lack audience support despite having players capable of being key to the national team for the upcoming decade,” Mijović noted.
Additionally, he stated:
“If people prefer to focus on betting shops and anticipate scores from Manchester City and Everton, then good luck to them. The quality of basketball we provide, along with Budućnost’s standing, deserves to attract more spectators,” Mijović concluded.
