Nikoleta Perović Eagerly Awaits New Challenges

Nikoleta Perović is making her return to the Montenegrin women’s national volleyball team after a three-year hiatus.

Under the guidance of Jovo Caković, the team is currently training in Podgorica for their debut in the Golden League. This competition will act as a preparatory phase for the European Championship qualifications, which is their primary goal this summer: the dream of qualifying for the continental championship.

“Being back in the national team after so long feels fantastic. The team is rejuvenated, and we have a new coaching staff. There’s a positive and productive atmosphere, and I’m eager for what lies ahead. Our preparations are progressing well, the camaraderie is excellent, and we are all fully committed to our work. We see visible improvements each day, getting into shape, and our motivation is at an all-time high. We’re excited for the upcoming challenges,” Nikoleta shared with odbojka.me.

The experienced player is back in action alongside her teammates, and her timing is perfect as they gear up for their first appearance in the most significant competition ever undertaken by the women’s senior national team.

“The Golden League is a significant advancement and a wonderful opportunity for us to compete against the best national teams. The inaugural tournament is hosted right here in Podgorica. We get to kick off the event on our home turf, which means a lot to us, and I hope we can start off with victories. While we are a young team in the Golden League, we aim to compete fiercely and not just be participants,” she added.

With twenty days of preparation ahead of the first tournament, the new generation of volleyball players will acclimatize to the training environment set by coach Jovo Caković, who stepped in with clear objectives and tremendous energy. Nikoleta Perović offers insight into this collaboration as one of the team’s seasoned players and reflects on her initial impressions.

“Having coach Caković and his staff is an excellent decision for the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro. It’s a privilege to work alongside them, and the younger players feel the same way. As someone with experience, I learn something new every day, which will greatly benefit the younger players in their future careers, given the coach’s detailed and dedicated approach,” she stated.

Our volleyball team will launch their Golden League journey at home in the “Verde” hall, facing off against Spain and Ukraine. The first tournament is set to take place from May 30 to June 1, under the organization of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro.
