Đinović Advances to Semifinals with Help from the Italians

Montenegrin boxer Tomislav-Bato Đinović had a solid start at the esteemed international tournament “Le Santur,” taking place in Argenteuil, a suburb of Paris.

The BK Zlatičanin athlete triumphed over Italian Brian Abatangelo by unanimous decision in the quarterfinals of the 60 kg category.

In the semi-finals, he is set to face local boxer Lee Belazel, who had a bye in the opening round.

“I am very satisfied with how Đinović opened the tournament. Although it was evident he was a bit tense at the start, likely due to the travel, he managed to find his rhythm when it mattered most. He demonstrated remarkable mental strength and composure, which are crucial in tournaments of this caliber. I hope he will feel even more relaxed in the upcoming matches, because we know how much he is capable of when he is entirely at ease. I believe he will improve from match to match and showcase his full potential,” said coach Nikola Ružić.

Alongside Đinović, Bojana Gojković will also step into the ring tomorrow, facing local boxer Lucy Poliak in the semifinals of the 57 kg category.

“I expect strong performances from both Bojana and Tomislav, a great display of our boxing, and, of course, victories. Every match like this is an opportunity for growth and development, and we are confident our competitors will represent Montenegro with honor,” emphasized Ružić.

The tournament, hosted at the “Rože Uvrar” sports hall, features boxers from around the globe, including competitors from Montenegro, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, Brazil, Serbia, and North Macedonia.
