Egyptian forward Mo Salah has turned down a lucrative offer to showcase his talent at the highest level. The Liverpool star received an astounding proposal worth over £500 million from a club in Saudi Arabia.
This information was reported by the BBC, though details about the contract duration were not revealed.
Nonetheless, Salah has opted to remain at Anfield, signing a new deal that will net him £40 million, with £20 million per season. His contract is set to expire in the summer.
Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, he has recorded an impressive tally of 393 goals and 243 assists in 109 appearances. In the current season alone, he has netted 32 goals across all competitions, with 27 scored in the Premier League.
Salah ranks as the third-highest goal scorer in Liverpool’s history, trailing only Roger Hunt with 285 goals and Ian Rush, who holds the record with 346 goals.
