Monstat: 392.910 apartments in Montenegro

Monstat: 392,910 Residential Units in Montenegro

According to census data, Montenegro has registered a total of 392,910 apartments, spanning an area of 28.61 million square meters.

Monstat reported that out of these, 285,730 are designated for permanent residence, covering 21.92 million square meters, while 16,720 apartments are utilized solely for business purposes, occupying 732,940 square meters.

There are 89,080 apartments intended for seasonal use, with a total area of 5.86 million square meters, and 1,370 apartments without specified usage, covering 95,400 square meters.

“Among the total apartments for permanent residence, 214,530 are currently occupied, with an area of 17 million square meters, while 71,200 are temporarily unoccupied or abandoned, spanning 4.92 million square meters,” the statement indicated.

The average size of occupied apartments in Montenegro is 79.3 square meters. Each person’s average living space is 27.5 square meters, and the average household consists of 2.9 individuals living in occupied apartments.

The Census of Population, Households, and Dwellings was carried out from December 3 to 30, 2023, following the established Methodology for Preparation, Organization, and Conduct of the Census.
