Today, the 103rd anniversary of the educational institution was commemorated with a unique cultural and entertainment program at the Secondary Vocational School.

During the event, the Minister of Sports in the Government of Montenegro, Dragoslav Šćekić, inaugurated the newly adapted gym.

The “Hemiias” foundation contributed by upgrading the school hall, three classrooms, and restroom facilities in the new section of the building.

According to the school principal, Zoran Vuković, the institution has evolved throughout its extensive history and has established itself as a respected educational establishment.

“This school serves not only as a place of learning but has also become a cornerstone of economic development for our municipality and the larger region. For over a century, we have been shaping knowledge, skills, and the future of generations that drive the local economy. It is our collective duty to keep investing in enhancing its capacities and modernizing education,” Vuković remarked, citing the impressive achievements in academic performance and the many accolades received by students in various competitions.

The project saw an investment of approximately 40 thousand euros from the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

Speaking to the audience, Šćekić highlighted the significance of the project, clarifying that the gym serves not only as a venue for physical activity but also as a space where young people acquire life lessons.

“This hall transcends mere physical space; it fosters the teaching of values beyond the curriculum, including perseverance, teamwork, respect for opponents, and perhaps most critically, the battle with oneself,” said Šćekić.

He further noted that investing in sports facilities should be considered not as an expense, but as a commitment toward a healthier and more active future for the youth.

“The value of this investment extends beyond mere monetary figures. It is reflected in the happiness of the children who will grow up here, in the victories that will be celebrated, and in the lessons learned from defeats,” added Šćekić.

The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Regional and Investment Development Ernad Suljević, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation Dragan Marković, and Milan Jančić, Director of the Directorate for Sports Infrastructure at the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
