The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development, Nik Gjeloshaj, met today with H.E. Akira Imamura, the Ambassador of Japan to Montenegro.

During their meeting, both officials reaffirmed the enduring and fruitful bilateral relations between Montenegro and Japan, stressing the need to enhance economic collaboration and promote innovation.

Gjeloshaj emphasized the importance of Japanese investments, which have a beneficial effect on the nation’s economic growth. He noted that partnerships with Japanese firms contribute to a vibrant economic landscape in Montenegro, creating avenues for development and advancement.

One significant topic was Montenegro’s involvement in EXPO 2025 in Osaka, a pivotal event for the country. Gjeloshaj expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Japanese people, mentioning that the Expo presents an excellent chance for Montenegro to highlight its culture, tourism, and economic capabilities on an international platform.

This event also serves as a valuable opportunity to strengthen economic relations between the two nations and attract additional Japanese investments to Montenegro. The meeting also underscored the significance of maintaining a productive partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
