The Euroleague basketball regular season has concluded.

All dilemmas from the final day have been resolved.

Barcelona and Efes secured the last two playoff spots with home wins against Virtus and Zalgiris, while the top four positions were already occupied by Olympiacos, Fenerbahçe, Panathinaikos, and Monaco.

Real Madrid ended up in the play-in round as the weakest link among Efes and Barcelona, where they will host eighth-placed Paris.

The second play-in matchup is Bayern vs. Red Star.

The winner of the Real vs. Paris match will proceed to the playoffs, while the loser will face the winner of the Bayern vs. Red Star matchup, with the latter’s loser being eliminated immediately.

Barcelona faced a tough challenge against Duško Ivanovic’s Virtus. After leading throughout the game, they found themselves down by five points in the final quarter, but rallied for a tight victory, finishing 91:87, with Kevin Panter contributing 20 points.

Efes had a challenging match as well, despite Zalgiris lacking competitive motivation. After trailing significantly in the first half, the Lithuanians equalized in the last quarter in Istanbul, but Larkin and his teammates sealed the game 87:77, marking their seventh consecutive victory and securing sixth place, right behind fifth-placed Barcelona.

Panathinaikos and Red Star showcased a thrilling contest at the Oaka Arena in Athens. The guests squandered a prime opportunity, falling 111:104 to the home team after overtime.

This was a significant loss for Red Star, as a win would have positioned them eighth in the standings, setting them up for a playoff against Real Madrid. In the final moments, they held an eight-point lead but couldn’t maintain it!

Like Partizan the night before, the “red and whites” allowed their lead to slip, ultimately faltering in overtime. An additional setback was the injury of Cody Miller-McIntyre, who scored 26 points and was Red Star’s leading scorer.

Red Star had one last chance to win in regulation, but Gedraitis failed to convert a crucial layup.

The reigning European champions capitalized on their opportunity, closing out the game convincingly in overtime, led by the outstanding Kendrick Nana, who scored 31 points.
