China is Overlooking Petr Porobić

The legacy of legends endures, and Petar Porobić stands out among them—not just in Montenegro, but also in China.

This vast nation remembers the immense contributions of one of the finest water polo coaches, who left us unexpectedly on October 9 of last year.

This was evident during the match for 7th place at the World Championship in Doha, where the crowd at “Aspajer dom” paid tribute.

“Coach Petar Porobić – China will always cherish your memory,” proclaimed a banner held aloft by one of the Chinese supporters.

Porobić, who guided Montenegro to European gold in Malaga in 2008, made a significant impact in China, coaching both the men’s and women’s national teams.

He passed away while returning from that country to Montenegro.
