In the recent local elections, the Socialist People’s Party in Herceg Novi, represented by the list “Herceg Novi in the First Place – SNP Herceg Novi”, has not secured a mandate, as per the preliminary results from Democratic Montenegro.
Milan Jančić, the list’s leader, expressed dissatisfaction with the outcomes of the election headquarters.
“We had anticipated a better outcome; however, it’s important to note that we lacked representatives in the election commissions. Therefore, we will be requesting a recount of the votes. There seems to be a discrepancy, and we will investigate this tomorrow. An appeal will be filed with the election commission,” Jančić commented, as reported by the RTHN portal.
He noted that the voter turnout was significantly low, which was anticipated due to a visible level of public discontent.
Despite their absence in the local parliament, the new, youthful SNP municipal board in Herceg Novi intends to keep active and prepare for future elections. As Jančić stated, they represent a brand that must strive to regain their position in the Municipal Assembly.
