Turkish diplomacy is entirely open and prepared to enhance cooperation and mutual support. They have significant development initiatives planned within the framework of global trade, where the Port of Bar is expected to play a critical role, stated Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Kemal Bozaj.
During his official visit to Turkey, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Mirsad Nurković met with Bozaj and Serkan Kayalar, the Director General of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
Bozaj, who also oversees European Union Affairs, remarked that “this visit contributes to the reinforcement of ties between two friendly nations with a history spanning over a century,” as communicated by the Deputy Speaker’s office.
“He highlighted that Turkish diplomacy is fully committed to deepening cooperation and mutual assistance, and informed Vice President Nurković about vital development projects in global trade, in which the Port of Bar will be key. This, he noted, will position Montenegro as an essential player in both regional and global economic advancement,” the statement reveals.
Nurković described this visit as a natural extension of the prior official meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Montenegro and Turkey—Ervin Ibrahimović and Hakan Fidan. He underscored that the visit further affirms the quality of relations between the two nations and the commitment to stronger collaboration.
“He expressed special thanks to Turkish diplomacy for its support in advancing Montenegro and conveyed his satisfaction with the news that Montenegro will have a notable role in upcoming geopolitical and Euro-Atlantic developments, both economically and in other areas. He also expressed hope that, in alignment with Bozaj’s announcements, Montenegro will attract new investments and development initiatives,” the statement continues.
Kayalar presented Nurković with an overview of TIKA’s projects in Montenegro thus far, emphasizing that the organization “remains dedicated to aiding and further developing Montenegrin communities through tangible projects.”
“Our collaboration with Montenegro transcends bilateral relationships; it’s also about development. With over 500 projects completed, we are one of Montenegro’s most significant partners. We do not wish for that number to stay the same—we are open to new proposals and initiatives to jointly enhance the living conditions of citizens,” Kayalar asserted.
Nurković stated it was a privilege to meet with the head of an institution that has contributed significantly to Montenegro.
“I am particularly gratified by your willingness to continue cooperation and support. I can confidently say that we are already in the preparatory stages of new development projects aimed at enhancing citizens’ living standards,” he emphasized.
He expressed gratitude to TIKA for its presence across all regions of Montenegro and various social sectors, noting that their assistance is “tangible for every citizen.”
“General Director Kayalar announced a forthcoming visit to Montenegro and scheduled a follow-up meeting with Vice President Nurković to discuss specific projects and future cooperation directions,” the statement concludes.
