This morning, in the Belgrade municipality of Zvezdara, citizens launched eggs at members of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) who were operating promotional stands, according to media reports.

Police are currently providing protection for SNS activists against protesting citizens, with similar stands also set up in Vračar, close to Kalenić Market, and near Cvetkova Market in Belgrade.

Earlier, residents of the Zvezdara municipality engaged in a verbal confrontation with SNS activists stationed in the area, which escalated to the egg-throwing incident as reported by the media.

The “Vreme” portal noted that Zvezdara residents threw eggs at SNS activists, who retaliated, while police officers intervened to separate the two sides.

The purpose behind the SNS stands remains unclear; however, citizens suspect it relates to gathering signatures for potential elections, which may be triggered if a new government is not established within the legal timelines, according to N1.
