The police in Mojkovac have issued a criminal complaint against a local resident, RB (57), on the grounds of illegally cutting wood without the appropriate permits, according to the Police Directorate (UP).

RB is alleged to have felled 23.299m³ of beech trees, resulting in damages to the Forest and Hunting Management Administration amounting to €1,090.78.

“The Police Directorate maintains its committed efforts against environmental crimes, which is a national priority, including the prevention of illegal logging and the identification and prosecution of offenders, to protect Montenegro’s natural resources,” the statement noted.
