Celebrating Montenegro’s Diplomatic Legacy and Continuity

In celebration of Montenegro’s Diplomacy Day, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović emphasized the importance of the day and its historical roots.

Last year, we celebrated 150 years since the creation of the Office for Foreign Affairs of the Principality of Montenegro, marking the beginning of formalizing Montenegro’s foreign policy. This was the first occasion on which this pivotal date in our diplomatic timeline was officially honored. I am proud that, at my suggestion, the Government declared 6 May as Montenegro’s Diplomacy Day — honoring the legacy of our diplomatic service and recognizing those who serve it with dedication, Ivanović noted.
