Primorac Sets His Sights on the Premier League

The water polo team from Primorje is on the brink of qualifying for the regional Premier League.

In their latest pool match, the Kotor team triumphed over Belgrade’s Vukov with a score of 11:10, allowing them to secure a six-point lead over their rivals before the final two rounds of the A1 league.

Currently, the Montenegrin team has amassed 12 points, while both Vukov and Valis sit at six points each, the latter having faced defeat against Primorje on Friday with a score of 12:8.

The match this evening was thrilling, with the visitors holding an 8:6 advantage at the end of the third quarter. However, Primorje rallied to clinch the lead five and a half minutes before the final whistle, bringing the score to 9:8.

The decisive goal came from Russian player Anatoly Yevdokushin, who secured the win with a strike for 11:10 just a minute and a half before the match concluded.

Primorje is set to play their last two games on Friday and Sunday: one in Valjevo against Valis and the other against Vukov in Belgrade.

A single point from these upcoming matches will be sufficient for Kotor to maintain their first-place status and re-enter the elite competition after a year’s absence.

Marko Mršić scored three goals for Primorje, while Nikola Marković added two. Draško Brguljan, Yevdokushin, Tim Perov, Nemanja Vico, Đorđije Stanojević, and Srđan Janović each chipped in with one goal.
