NSD to Make Transparency a Priority in Gradual Agreement Decisions with UEA
Dejan Đurović, a new MP from the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), has announced that the party will evaluate its support for an agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He assured that the entire process will unfold in phases, emphasizing transparency without rushing.
Following discussions at the Government building with Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, Đurović explained that they deliberated on an overarching agreement between Montenegro and the UAE, as well as specific agreements related to hospitality, tourism, and real estate.
“We have not delved into matters beyond the agreement. This marks the initial phase of cooperation between Montenegro and the Emirates, and each step will be thoroughly transparent and will require parliamentary approval. Contrary to recent media speculation about a hasty and unpublicized process, that is simply not true,” he emphasized, noting that this is the first time the agreement has been discussed as a parliamentary group.
He reiterated that this is the primary umbrella sectoral agreement, with another one focused on energy set to enter parliamentary procedure soon.
“As a serious party, we will engage in discussions within our parliamentary group, followed by talks with government ministers, leading to a decision made by our party’s governing bodies,” Đurović stated, affirming their confidence in the agreement which will be addressed in Parliament shortly.
He added that their focus is on the upcoming local elections in Nikšić on April 13, where they anticipate a victory for Marko Kovačević, after which they will proceed to the next phase.
