Delić Claims Vice-Championship in BiH, Stellar Performances from Jovović, Ćinćur, and Đurović in the Finals
Montenegrin volleyball players continue to shine in championship finals across the region and beyond. Although their teams have primarily faced defeats, individual performances by our national team members have remained impressive.
Jovan Delić and his team, Domaljevac, concluded the season as vice-champions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were defeated in the final series by Napredak, losing both matches without winning a single set. After a setback at home, Domaljevac was unable to turn the tables on the road. Delić, who plays as a receiver, scored eight points in the second match.
Đorđe Jovović and Nikola Đurović are representing Mladost Zagreb in the Croatian championship final against Mursa. Despite their team’s losses in the first two matches, both with a score of 3:1, Jovović exhibited great form, achieving double figures in each game—15 points in the first and 10 in the second match. Middle blocker Đurović also made a solid contribution, scoring six points in the first match and eight in the second. The third match of the final series is scheduled for Thursday at the “Bojan Stranić” hall, kicking off at 8 p.m.
In Slovenia, Matija Ćinćur and his team Alpacem Kanal are competing against the formidable ACH Volej for the title. Though his team has faced defeats in the first two matches of the series, Ćinćur’s performance has been commendable. He scored eight points with a 67% success rate in attacks during the first match, and added five more points in the second.
During the main phase of the Amir Cup in Qatar, the Qatar Sport team, led by coach Darko Prebiracevic, triumphed over Al Sadd, coached by Montenegrin Marko Joksimovic. Qatar Sport secured a convincing victory with a score of 3:0 (25:16, 27:25, 25:17), with Joksimovic contributing two points. However, in the subsequent phase of the competition, Prebiracevic’s team lost to Al Rajan by the same maximum score, with a rematch between the two teams set for April 23.
